Hello fellow Readers,

Welcome to DarkissReads!   Here you will find a place to curl up and browse through the various books that we have chosen to grace our library.  I am Rayven a lover of all things shadowy and mystical.  If you were to browse my reading library you would find a varied works of literature ranging from Fantasy, Sci-fi, Horror, Romance, paranormal, erotica and much more. My most recent passion is for all things Steam, I have fallen in love with the Steampunk Genre

love to read and usually have more than one book on the go at any one time. My taste in novels cannot be confined into a few genre types. I love all different genres, but currently am having a love affair with gritty paranormal/fantasy. My first love; Mike Carey with his Felix Castor series, second would be Simon R Green and his Nightside series. They both really grab my attention and leave me wanting more, while last but not least The Tales of Soloman Kane by Robert E Howard.

If you are interested in having DarkissReads review your book, or just have comments on the blog, feel free to contact me directly @  witchofthemists@gmail.com
Blessed be!

 Greetings,

A former engineer who has always had a passion for literature in all its forms. A 25 year veteran of reading science fiction (engineering background); fantasy fiction & history from the Anglo-Saxon & Middle Ages, which to me is very much interwoven with a lot of fantasy. A person who is equally split and at home between the two genres and who is not a closed book to new & exciting Authors from any genre.

Regards,
Cardmon

Hello!

I’ve always loved books – as a child I’d read the cereal packets while having breakfast, the newspapers while doing my paper round, sneak mums magazines (and the inevitable readers digest!) and was always at the library. Mum used to say if they made printed toilet paper I’d read that too! My taste in books is varied – I’ve always enjoyed romance within a good story, love historical books, thrillers and crime novels. I bought a fantasy book in error three years ago thinking it was a historical one ( should have read the blurb more) and put off reading it til I’d gone through everything else but loved it much to my surprise. As number one son is also an avid reader and his shelves groan with fantasy books in the space type scenario I’d got the idea that fantasy equaled star trek type novels. Of course nothing is further from the truth and discovering the world of yummy vampires, shape shifters and magicians has been a journey I’m so glad I undertook. Fantasy novels are now my main reading material, though i do still go back to the old favourites sometimes.   In April last year Him Indoors bought me a kindle (possibly he was tired of the sagging shelves of books in every room and the staggering dusty towers of ones looking for a space to inhabit). I wasn’t sure I’d like it but its fantastic and has opened up even more avenues in my reading genre with the number of free books available that whet my appetite for new authors.  I now prefer my kindle to any book , its lightweight and the text size is adjustable – if you struggle with print size just enlarge it – so simple.  I have the cover with integral reading light which is great for reading in bed (and i do – every night), and of course when you finish a book its straight to home page and on with the next with no searching through myriads of books to find the one you want.

I'm never bored – life is full of hobbies – as well as my lovely books I’m also an artist ( http://www.jeanniezelos.com/ and http://affordablebritishart.co.uk/gallery.php?artist=jeanniezelos&aid=17 ) something that developed after my retirement after having cancer in 1995. I use many different media in my artworks such as watercolours, pastels, oils and encaustic wax – I hate being tied to one thing. I love my garden though keeping it tidy is difficult so I like to say its a “wildlife” garden.... I also have a horse who lives at home – I used to ride but after falling out of my wheelchair and breaking my hip while moving the electric fence I’m no longer able to do more than have a sit on her and wander round the garden. Life is for enjoying : ) its a one shot chance.

Hello & Welcome! Shwmae & Croeso!

Welcome to the world of incite for readers from all realms!

I say this as an avid reader for many a year myself, with normally two or three books on the go ~ generally of completely different genres! I am a fan of any good book (and no a kindle will never replace one but yes they are handy!) & love all types, from Crime, Thriller, Fantasy and Mystery ~and if there is a book that combines any of the above then that's all the better to me!

Typical authors to be found on my shelves (and in my Kindle) are from Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kelley Armstrong, Rachel Vincent, Gail Carriger. To Patricia Cornwall, Michael Connelly and more but my list of authors is not why you are here!

An glimpse into me.. From the mountains of Wales, on my farm with the dog Tigger I work in the day then continue at night, however i ensure I get Me Time with a good book for at least an hour a day. we all need our escapism and where better than your own imagination with someone else's words!

So sit back and relax, read a review and go forth and escape!

Enjoy! Mwynhewch!

Hello,
What can I say - I’ve read for as long as I can remember, from Enid Blyton’s adventurous Secret Seven and Famous Five to romance, thriller, mystery and fantasy. At the moment I’m very into Charlaine Harris various series - True Blood, Harper Connolly, Aurora Teagarden and  Lily Bard
I like a read that goes on into a series; you get to know the characters and the feel of the novels. I also like James Patterson -his books are such a "fast" read. I’ve got my favorite "classics"  Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Rebecca  Etc............but I’m not an intellectual -I read what I like, very rarely what I think I should!
That’s more or less my reading habits: about myself - I’m from a farming background - and now work in a popular local coffee shop. I’m kept busy with 3 collie dogs and a cat and I live out in a very small "hamlet" surrounded by beautiful views.

I've had a passion for all things literature from the first time I started reciting the books my mama would read to me when I was just a toddler. Since then, you can't keep a book out of my hands. My favorite genres are paranormal romance, fantasy, vamps/weres, witches/witchcraft, angel's/demons, fan fictionIn the past, I've also enjoyed true crime, non-fiction, sci-fi, and the classics like Shakespeare, Bronte, Austen, and my favorite, Edgar Allen Poe.

I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia, though I've suffered with it for years. As a result, I'm not able to do the things I used to enjoy, but I still have my books. I take my Nook with me everywhere, therefore I have a large collection of books in my library that is always with me. Since becoming a book reviewer, I have read some amazing books by some really great indie authors. If you'd like to see the books I've reviewed, check out my blog www.ravenzreviews.blogspot.com
